Mariposario San
Buenaventura, Panajachel
Ubicado en un cruce a la derecha antes de llegar a Panajachel, en la misma entrada del hotel Bahía del Lago.
Les comparto el día que visitamos el
mariposario San Buenaventura Panajachel, realmente no estaba en nuestros
planes, nosotros buscábamos donde acampar y lo encontramos en el hotel Bahía
del Lago. Estando ahí vimos unos rótulos y decidimos caminar hasta el fondo,
relativamente cerca y llegamos a la entrada del lugar.
Al llegar al lugar, vimos que en
realidad es una reserva natural cerca del lago y no solo un mariposario. Cuenta
con un sendero con canopy que es opcional, también tiene puentes colgantes y
animales como pizotes y monos araña. La caminata es bastante relajante, hay una
cascada donde uno puede bajar a ver y sentir la refrescante brisa que la
cascada despide.
Caminar en un bosque bastante fresco y
ver a los animales en su naturaleza es algo inolvidable.
Luego pasamos al mariposario, antes de
entrar tienen un pequeño museo donde muestran a las orugas creando su capullo,
cuando se vuelve crisálida y por último cuando sale una mariposas con alas
listas para desplegar.
Una vez entrando al mariposario,
dentro del domo hay un jardín que por la mañana está lleno de mariposas quietas
que esperan a que salga el sol para poder volar. Hay muchas especies de
mariposas dentro del domo, de varios tamaños y colores, otras que pueden
camuflagearse, etc.
Hay una especie de mariposa que es
única de esta región, como resultado del cruce de especies dio esta nueva
mariposa.
Ya cuando el resplandor del sol
brillaba sobre el domo, las mariposas desplegaron sus alas y nos dieron un
espectáculo para no olvidar. Volaban a todas partes, los colores se podían
apreciar en todo el jardín.
Una experiencia que no deja nada que
desear, recomiendo que visiten este hermoso lugar, no se van a arrepentir.

will share the day we visited the butterfly park San Buenaventura Panajachel,
it really was not in our plans, we were looking for a place to camp and we
found a place at the hotel Bahía del Lago. We saw some signposts there and decided
to search for the place, relatively close and in a few minutes we reached the
entrance of the place.
Once
we arrived, we saw that it is actually a natural reserve near the lake and not
just a butterfly park. It has a trail for you to walk with canopy which is optional;
there are also hanging bridges and animals like birds, coatis and monkeys. The hike is
quite relaxing, there is a waterfall where you can go down to see and feel the
refreshing breeze from the waterfall.
A walk
in a pretty cool forest and the opportunity see animals in nature is an
unforgettable experience.
Then
we went to the butterfly house, before entering they have a small museum where
they show the caterpillars creating a cocoon when it becomes chrysalis and
finally when they come out as butterflies ready to fly.
Once
entering the butterfly house, inside the dome there is a garden that in the
morning is full of quiet butterflies waiting for sunrise to come. There are
many species of butterflies inside the dome, in various sizes and colors,
others can camouflage, etc.
There
is a species of butterfly that is unique to this region as a result of crossing
species came this new butterfly species.
And
when the brightness of the sun is shining on the dome, the butterflies spread
their wings and give us a show to remember. They flew everywhere, the colors
could be seen throughout all the garden.
An
experience that leaves nothing to be desired, I recommend visiting this
beautiful place, you will not regret it.
