Visitando Hun Nal Ye (La casa del Dios de la Luna)
                                                       (Scroll down for English version)

Visiting Hun Nal Ye (The house of the God of the Moon)

Remembering about all the adventures we have had with my family, the first showing in my mind would definitely be Hun Nal Ye, in Alta Verapaz, at about 7 hours driving from Guatemala city, I am not sure if it was the impression it caused to see this paradise in the middle of nowhere or all of the differet activities this hotel offers.
We got there with all my family (and when I say "all" is because we got there in two 4x4 vehicles looking like tuna cans), they gave us a nice welcoming and took us to the 3  rooms we reserved out of the 10 the hotel has.
Everything was perfectly in place and the most important thing (at least for me... and my mom of course) it was all very clean.

Hun nal ye is a place to stay, relax and dissconect from the world, even if you stay many days there you won't feel like you enjoyed all the activities enough.

The first thing I noticed in front of the rooms was a small lagoon where they have Tilapias (a very popular and delicious kind of fish), so if you enjoy fishing, you can just sit there and if you are lucky enough you might catch your dinner, and if I tell you this, it's because the hotel can cook your fish for you so you can eat that food that took so much effort from you to get.

Another activity, and personally the one that I enjoyed the most is trekking which starts with an expedition vehicle that gives you an introduction to the adventure you are about to have, you won't walk that much time but in the end of the trail you'll be able to appreciate something amazing: A Cenote (which in Mayan means "hole with water" just as simple as that)
From this Cenote, a beautiful river called "Dolores" is born, there are many places during the hiking  were you can just take a rest and swim in its peaceful turquoise waters.

Besides this activities the hotel offers, horseback riding, ATV's rental, camping area, museum, tubbing and of course Canopy which is super exciting since its stations
are above the river and the woods.

Food is very good, super fresh y customer service is excellent. It is definitely one of those reasons why you need to visit Guatemala!
